Cardamom has been blended into coffee across the Middle East and Central Asia for centuries. Selamlique, the Istanbul-based specialty brand, brings that tradition into a precisely made product: 100% Arabica beans from Brazil's Rio Minas region, medium-roasted, stone-ground to the fine consistency Turkish coffee demands, and blended with 1.68% natural cardamom. The result carries the same spiced warmth that defines Arabic gahwa — but built on the structured body and rich foam of a classically brewed Turkish coffee.
The 125g matte black metal tin holds individual pre-measured sachets, each containing enough coffee for one cup. Sachets preserve freshness after the tin is opened, keep the blend consistent cup to cup, and make brewing at home or while traveling simple. There is no need to measure or grind — add the sachet to water, brew in a cezve or small saucepan, and pour. The tin itself is designed to hold up on a shelf: the olive-green Kakuleli label stands out cleanly against the black and gold packaging.
Tasting notes: Balanced acidity, smooth body, mild cardamom finish. The cardamom presence is aromatic rather than sharp — it lifts the cup without overtaking the coffee underneath. Selamlique recommends pairing it after a heavy or spiced meal.

Selamlique sources its Arabica from Rio Minas, grown at approximately 800 metres altitude. The beans are sun-dried and then ground on stone mills at the company's Izmir facility. This grinding method produces the ultra-fine particle size that gives Turkish coffee its characteristic body and foam — finer than espresso, finer than any filter grind.
If you already drink Arabic coffee (gahwa) and are curious about Turkish coffee, or if you enjoy spiced coffee in any form, this is the closest the Turkish tradition comes to that flavor profile. If you are new to Turkish coffee entirely, the cardamom version is considered one of the more accessible entry points: the spice rounds out the bitterness and makes the cup feel familiar.
