Selamlique's Chocolate Turkish Coffee brings together two things Istanbul does well: finely ground Arabica coffee and the deep, roasted character of cocoa. The result is a cup with balanced acidity, a body that leans into dark chocolate, and a creamy finish that lingers without sweetness taking over.
The coffee itself starts in the highlands of Brazil's Rio Minas region, where Arabica cherries are sun-dried at elevations around 800 metres. Back at Selamlique's ISO 9001- and ISO 22000-certified roastery in Izmir, the beans are medium-roasted and then stone-ground to the ultra-fine consistency Turkish coffee requires — fine enough that a single bean is broken into up to 35,000 particles. The chocolate element comes from real cocoa powder (7%) and a nature-identical chocolate flavour (1.09%); sugar accounts for 9.1% of the blend. Caffeine content is 1.2%.
The tin — a matte black square canister with gold trim and Selamlique's signature purple CHOCOLATE label — holds individually sealed black sachets. Each sachet delivers one measured portion, which means the coffee stays fresh and the ritual stays simple: empty one sachet into a cezve with cold water, heat slowly until a small foam rises, pour, and wait for the grounds to settle before the first sip.
