Koska Mixed Dried Fruit Summer Halva (Kuru Meyveli Yaz Helvası) is a lighter, fruit-studded take on Turkey's classic tahini halva. Where traditional halva is dense and intense, this summer halva has a softer, more open crumb folded with real pieces of dried fruit, so each bite tastes mild, nutty, and naturally fruity rather than heavily sweet.
The base is built on tahini (ground sesame) and semolina, then layered with 16% dried fruit — apricot, quince, fig, grape, and orange. That fruit is what gives the halva its colorful flecks and its name: in Turkey it is eaten in warmer months as a lighter dessert, which is exactly why it is called Yaz Helvası, meaning "summer halva."
It works in all the ways Turkish halva traditionally does.
