Turkish Delight with Turkish Coffee, Cocoa & Hazelnut Cream 350g

This is Turkish delight built around two of Turkey's best-loved flavours: thick, bittersweet Turkish coffee and cocoa. Each piece is a soft, slow-cooked lokum scented with coffee and cocoa, wrapped around a smooth hazelnut cream centre, with a light coconut finish on the outside. It comes from Afyon, the western Anatolian city long known for its kaymak (clotted cream from water buffalo milk) and for the rich, creamy style of lokum that tradition made famous.

The texture is the point. A good cream-filled lokum should give way softly, then turn melt-in-the-mouth as the hazelnut cream comes through. The coffee and cocoa keep it from being simply sweet, so it sits closer to a praline or a soft chocolate than to plain rosewater delight. It is made to Turkish Food Codex standards with no synthetic additives, using sugar, hazelnuts, cocoa and Turkish coffee.
