Turkish coffee with cardamom from Tuğba Kuruyemiş, known in Turkish as kakuleli kahve. This is real Turkish coffee: very finely ground beans blended with cardamom (kakule), the warm, fragrant spice that gives the cup its aromatic, slightly sweet edge. The ingredient list is short and honest — Turkish coffee and cardamom, nothing else — and the coffee is produced in Türkiye and made to the Turkish food codex.
Turkish coffee is brewed unfiltered in a small long-handled pot called a cezve (also known as an ibrik). The fine grind and the cezve are what create the signature foam on top and the rich body in the cup. Because it is unfiltered, the coffee is served grounds and all, in small porcelain cups (fincan), with a glass of water alongside.
How to brew it: measure cold water with your serving cup, pour it into the cezve, and add about one heaping teaspoon of the ground coffee per cup (roughly 7g per person). Add sugar now if you want it — sweetness is chosen before brewing, not stirred in after. Place the cezve over low heat and do not stir once it warms. As soon as a layer of foam rises and just before it boils over, lift it off the heat. Spoon some foam into each cup, return the pot briefly, then pour. Let the cup settle for a moment before sipping, and leave the grounds at the bottom.
Cardamom-spiced coffee is a long-loved pairing across the Middle East and is especially popular in the Gulf, but it travels well anywhere a slower, more aromatic cup is welcome — after a meal, with something sweet like Turkish delight, or whenever guests arrive. The 175g pack is convenient for daily use, and it is delivered to your door.
Store it in a cool, dry place with the pack closed, ideally between +4 and +20°C, to keep the cardamom aroma and the coffee fresh.
