Melodi Pistachio Croquant Chocolate is a Turkish gifting classic built around one ingredient: Antep pistachio from Gaziantep, the region most prized for pistachios anywhere in the world. Each piece is 60% Antep pistachio croquant, a crisp candy of pistachio and caramelized sugar, enrobed in real milk chocolate and wrapped in green foil. The croquant snaps; the pistachio is roasted and intensely nutty; the milk chocolate is smooth rather than sweet-heavy.
Melodi has made chocolate since 1957, when the craft began in a family chocolate shop in Samsun and moved to Istanbul. Today the house is known for boutique pistachio and dragee work, and this croquant is one of its signatures.
