That natural sun-drying gives them their deep brown colour and a richer, sweeter, more concentrated flavour than the bright golden sulphured kind — the visible difference you can see in the tin. The dried figs are soft, whole Anatolian figs with their natural fruit sweetness, and the walnut halves add crunch and a buttery contrast alongside the chewy fruit. Nothing is coated in added sugar — the sweetness comes from the fruit itself.
