Koska Tahini & Grape Molasses Mix is the classic Turkish breakfast pairing in one jar: creamy sesame tahini blended with sweet grape molasses (pekmez) into a smooth, spoonable brown spread. Known in Turkey as tahin pekmez, it balances the deep, nutty taste of ground sesame against the rich, fruity sweetness of concentrated grape juice. The blend is roughly 60% tahini to 40% grape molasses, the ratio Turkish families traditionally use, so it is nutty and sweet without tipping too far either way.
This is one of the most-loved breakfast staples in Turkey, often described as the Turkish answer to peanut butter and jam. Spread it thick on warm toast or fresh bread, swirl it over pancakes, waffles or yogurt, drizzle it on oatmeal, or simply eat a spoonful on its own. A traditional touch is to top your toast with a few walnuts. As an energy-dense breakfast food, it is a satisfying way to start the day, and many enjoy it as a simple after-meal sweet by dipping bread straight into the jar. The jar carries a natural source of fibre badge on the pack.
Koska has been making Turkish sweets and tahini since 1907, when the family opened its first halva shop in Denizli before moving to Istanbul in 1931 and taking its name from the Koska neighborhood. Still family-run, Koska is one of Turkey's most recognized confectionery and tahini producers and exports to dozens of countries worldwide. This jar holds 350g (12.3 oz) of tahin pekmez. Store it at room temperature and give it a quick stir if the sesame and molasses naturally separate.
