Kahve Dünyası is Turkey's largest coffee chain, founded in 2004 in the historic Eminönü district of Istanbul. This medium roast Turkish coffee is one of the products they are best known for — ground to a near-powder fineness from 100% Arabica beans sourced from the Rio Minas region of Brazil, and packed in a resealable silver metal tin that preserves freshness after opening.

The medium roast brings out the characteristic complexity of traditionally prepared Turkish coffee: spiced warmth on the front, a woody and earthy mid-note, and a rounded finish with faint fruity and tobacco-like undertones. It is not sharp or bitter. The roast is calibrated to hold up in a cezve — the small long-handled pot used to prepare Turkish coffee — where grounds and water are heated slowly together rather than filtered. The result is thick, unfiltered, and intensely aromatic.

Turkish coffee culture was added to the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2013. Making it correctly is a small ritual: grounds and cold water go into the cezve together, the heat is kept low, and the foam that rises just before boiling is the mark of a well-made cup. It is served with the grounds settled at the bottom, typically alongside a glass of water.
