Eti Karam Gurme is a dark chocolate wafer made by Eti, a Turkish snack manufacturer founded in 1962 in Eskişehir. Each 50 g piece is built from three components: a cocoa cream filling (66.2%), a dark chocolate coating (26.4%), and crispy wafer sheets (7.4%). The dark chocolate used in the coating has a minimum cocoa dry matter of 53%, which gives it a clean, pronounced bitterness without sweetness overload.
The wafer sheets are deliberately thin — they fracture cleanly rather than crumbling — and the cream filling sits between the layers, so every bite delivers even layering. The exterior dark chocolate sets firm and has a slight snap, in contrast to the softer cream inside. The two textures meet without one masking the other.
Eti produces this wafer under the Karam Gurme line, which sits above their standard confectionery range. The format — a single 50 g bar rather than small finger wafers — means it is closer to a chocolate bar in portion and experience. It pairs naturally with Turkish black tea or filter coffee, where the bitterness in both drinks reinforces rather than fights the chocolate coating.
Each 50 g wafer is individually wrapped. Available here as a 3-piece pack ($5.00) or a box of 12 ($16.95). Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
