Individually wrapped caramel candies coated in milk chocolate, made by Şekerci Cafer Erol — the Istanbul confectioner whose story began in 1807, when a family trained in the Ottoman palace dessert kitchens opened its first candy shop in Eminönü. The same house still runs its landmark shop in Kadıköy, where it has operated continuously since 1945.
Each candy is roughly 70% soft caramel filling under a 30% milk chocolate coating, made with butter, milk powder and cocoa butter. The pieces are handmade, so shapes and sizes vary slightly from candy to candy — a sign of small-batch production rather than a factory line. The maker states its confectionery contains no alcohol and no pork fat.
Two formats: a 350 g bag for everyday sweets at home or the office, and a 650 g retro metal tin embossed with the brand's 1807 Istanbul mark. The tin is the gift option — a nostalgic Turkish candy box that keeps its purpose long after the last wrapper, and a natural choice for hosting trays, holiday tables and care packages sent abroad.
Keep it in a cool, dry place at 18–22°C and do not refrigerate. Sealed, it keeps for 6 months; once opened, the maker recommends finishing it within a week.
